Brief

|

Create a range of five limited edition book covers for 5 modern
classic penguin books including ‘One Flew over the cuckoos nest’ (for
submission to the annual penguin design competition), using illustrated
lettering and image making as the main design aesthetic.

Background
  / Considerations
 |
 ||
|

It is important to look for less obvious themes and subjects
to base the designs on, and to stay away if possible from the associations
with the various film versions that have been made of the stories.
The context of the books should be considered – rather than
one of the mainstream bookshops, perhaps these books are intended for a book
  fair or smaller concession.
The range of deliverables that could accompany the book covers
should be considered across print, digital, and for both accessories and
  promotion/point of sale.
While the designs should vary and be individual, there must be
elements that make them recognisable as a set.
