I decided that the cat needed to be re-drawn in order to allow it to fit in better with the rest of the designs. To help with my drawing as I felt a little out of practice, I did some blind drawings of cats tof just under an hour.
I then redrew the cat using stronger, more deliberate lines until I came up with one that I think works.
I chose this cat as I liked the shape and feel that the style has a 1950's aesthetic to it which suits the period of the book.
I also redrew some elements of the type that I felt weren't working.
