I decided on the name 'Gin Joint' which meant changing the design slightly. I actually think it works better aesthetically as well. At first it looked more like a 'p' but now I think it works well.
I think the fluidity of the design reflects the consistency of gin and the way that it makes you feel. I also think that the drip like shape of the dot on the 'i' helps to do this as well. I think that the aesthetic successfully conveys the vintage aesthetic I am going for, but with a contemporary twist to reflect Gin's recent increase in popularity. From here, I need to create the signage for the bar as well as a full typeface.
